The Hourly Photo Project

Yesterday, I participated in Andrea’s hourly photo project.  The object was to take one photo every hour, the flickr group is called, “My Day, One Hour at a Time”, where you can check out others that participated.

I started exactly an hour after I got up (I can’t function without coffee, I mean, CANNOT) at 7:45am, here is how my day unfolded at a quarter to the hour.

The kids ready for school and hamming it up.

Apple and I on the way to swimming. (Taken at a stop light).

Apple in the car after swimming. Being silly again.

Tidying up my living room in preparation for a shoot.

I thought a little self portrait would be fun.

  From my first shoot (SOOC).

And an hour later I got so hold and shoot this little one (SOOC).

Then it was time to pick up someone from school already.  Where did the day go?

Trying to bring a little Summer into the house on a gray Fall day.

On the way out for supper, something we rarely do, but after my long day I did not feel like cooking.

Hubby splurged on dessert.  This is at Boston Pizza.  I had the little itty bitty one serving brownie.

A certain somebody needed to get in on the action.

Even though I ran on Thursday I felt like running again.  Did 4k last night in prep for my 5k tomorrow.

Yarn for a photo prop.  It is very soft and quite colourful.

And this was my Friday, October 2nd, 2009 one hour at a time. My day ended before the next shot was due, I was fast asleep. I enjoyed recording the day.  I did not go out of my way to do anything differently than I would have.  But, I did try to take a photo of something I normally would not have.  I used both my Nikon d700 and my Canon Powershot A470, I prefer the Nikon.

Since I realized last week that the CIBC Run for the Cure was only a week away I have been training hard.  It is not that I am totally out of shape, but I hadn’t been running regularly so I wanted to be sure I could actually finish the run.  I have run every other day since last Sunday.  Putting in 3-5km depending on who I am with or how I am feeling.  I feel strong, I feel ready.  I feel like I want to keep this up, it has been giving me strength.  Now, please God, keep the rain at bay until after the run.

For supper last night, I was feeling a little uninspired.  We have been eating the same stuff for quite a while and it was chilly and Fall like.  Add to that the soup recipes that I was reading over, I really didn’t know what to make (Hubby, A and J all don’t eat soup).

I had a bunch of random ingredients and realized that I could pull together a pretty quick pot pie.

Here is what I had:

  • two chicken breasts
  • cheddar cheese
  • cream of potato soup
  • a box of stuffing
  • a bag of frozen veggies

Here is what I did:

  1. cubed and cooked the chicken
  2. microwaved the frozen veggies for 5 min. to take out the chill.
  3. grated the cheese.
  4. mixed the chicke, veggies, cheese and can of soup together in a caserole dish.
  5. sprinkled the stuffing (prepared as per package directions) over top.
  6. Baked at 350F for 30 min.

And boy did it taste good.  I even had enough for leftovers at lunch today.
