Workout Wednesday

For the first time ever here at my Beach, I have asked for a Guest Post.  To break up things up a bit, I asked my girlfriend Lori to write up a guest post workout for us today. Lori and I have known each other almost all our lives we met in Kindergarten and went all through High School together.  Lori and I were cheerleaders together and given my height I was the base of the pyramid and Lori stood on my shoulders.  Now if you want a workout, that was a great one. We now haven’t seen each other in about 9 years.  You see Lori lives in Texas and as much as we would love to see each other we are just that far apart that it doesn’t happen.

Lori is a mother of three and the owner of Amped Up Fitness and trains to compete as a Professional Fitness Competitor and Fitness Model. I am very proud of Lori’s achievements and am honoured that she offered to provide a workout for us here.

Happy Wednesday to you all.  I know my Workout Wednesday posts have been sporadic, but so has my working out.  I run, when I can. I walk, when I can. But, that is about it.  And honestly, it just isn’t cutting it anymore.

I have tried to register for Booty Camp Fitness a couple of times now, but it sells out in my area very quickly.  Then I went to She’s Connected and had a chance to meet with Lisa (and several other Ladies from Booty Camp) which also happened to be the day the next session opened up. We chatted about where I am at, and how I just can’t get back to where I want and used to be.

Lisa thinks that we can do it.  That I can be where I want to be.  I was assured there would be no yelling at me and making me cry.  I can do that in my own home thank you very much.  I have been assured that I will be worked out hard, something I perhaps haven’t been getting from myself lately.

Please join me for four weeks of Booty Camp starting next week. I will be taking measurements from when I start to when I finish.  I will let you know how hard it is, how painful it is or how it all went so smoothly.  I believe there are a few spots left in other areas of the city and if not, then grab a dvd and get your Booty on.  No time for slouching, the holidays are upon us and I just can’t take my waistline anymore.

How awful that I am rolling two posts into one!  But the truth is I am barely squeaking this by. I am exhausted and running on empty, but I can’t let today pass without acknowledging my son’s 7th Birthday and offering up a challenge.

Birthday Boy

Seven years ago I was weeping with Joy because this little guy came into my life.  I still relish the days we spend together and try not to suffer the days when he is gone from me at school.  He is half of my team where I am the coach, he is my everything.  What I wouldn’t do for this little guy.  I love you J.

And not to shrug my new dedication to Workout Wednesdays, I have to say that this week was a good slap in the face.  Last night at an event a lady approached me to offer her Doula services. Needless to say I am not pregnant and it took all I had in me not to scream at her, but it was certainly the slap I needed to wake up my abs and get them into shape.

So, this week I am offering up a challenge should you wish to join me.  In addition to my running, I am going to do a set of  hundreds each day.  Hundreds is a Pilates move that works out your abs and if I wasn’t already in my pj’s I would show them to you, but check out “hundreds pilates” on the web and you will find some great suggestions.  Will you join me?
