A Little Blogiversary Thank You

I was trying to think of something personal to give away for this year’s blogiversary (am I even spelling that right? not sure) like a family photo shoot, but when I realized that many of my readers are far away from our Nation’s Capital that just wouldn’t be fair.  I mean it would be if I could afford to fly to where ever you live, but I am a SAHM so I cannot afford the airfare at this point. Instead, I opted for four of my favourite things.

This little package contains four of my favourite things, five if you include the pen.

You Deserve This by Cake Beauty.  I received this as a gift from my eldest Sister last year for my birthday and my hands and feet have thanked her ever since.

An Ecojot notebook.  The same one I carry around with me all the time.  Who am I kidding?  I have about five of these throughout the house, all for different things.  One in my purse (small one) for notes, one in the diaper bag, one on my nightstand to write the library books I get in it, one in the gym to keep track of my workouts, one for photography to write notes about a shoot, and one for writing when I am in the mood for working on my novel.

Sephora by OPI nail polish in Casting Call.  I love OPI nail polish and this one is a nice shade of mauve, perfect for summer toes.

A set of four note cards that I made myself and carry in my Etsy Shop.

And an added bonus of a pen.  I had to include it because it matched both the notebook and the cards and I love the fine tip when I write.

And I just realized that three of the four items are made in Canada, so I am thankful to be giving away some wonderful Canadian goodies to one of my wonderful readers.  Because truly, you are all fabulous.  I know I started this blog to give something back for all the blogs I was reading, but I never really thought that four years later I would still be blogging and actually loving it.  I know that once in a while my posts are a little less frequent, but that is only because I am just simply hanging around the house and there is only so much to say when you don’t leave your backyard.  I have met some truly wonderful women (and a couple of men) in my blogging adventures and hope that it will continue for many years to come.

So without further ado, I will ask you to leave a comment and tell me why you blog or don’t blog?

A winner will be randomly chosen on Tuesday morning, the last day of June.

*This giveaway has been furnished completely by me.  I have tried and tested all of the products and they are truly things that I love.

    Congratulations on your blogiversary!
I find blogging cathartic and a way for me to express all the thoughts floating around in my head. It also allows me to stay in touch with family and friends no matter where they might be!

  • Mandie P. June 27, 2009, 3:30 pm

I blog because I enjoy getting my ideas out there!

Whoot! I love give a ways. I need to do one when I hit my 4 year anniversay next March.

Why do I blog? I’ll keep this short but really I could go on and on. The best part, aside from sharing with family, is getting to meet fellow bloggers both online and in person. It’s truly the best part!

Ps when you coming here again? 😉

I blog so my family and friends who are far away can stay up to date on what we’re doing and how Annalie is growing, and so they can see photos. I also blog because I love to write, because it’s fun, because it’s a great community to be a part of, and because I’ve met some of my best friends via blogs.

Congratulations on your 4th anniversary! That Cake Beauty set looks really fantastic.

For me, the blog is part remembrance book for The Bean and partly a journal for me about our journey together. I started it to keep far away family up to date on what was going on with her, and have enjoyed it so much. This year has been a little lax with the major life events we’ve had (buying our first house, moving, new school for The Bean, etc.) but I’m hoping to hit my stride again with it soon and get back to at least 3-6 posts a week. We’ll see if I make it.

Thanks for being my bloggy friend. I so enjoy seeing the bits of your life and watching J and Apple grow. If we hadn’t been paired up in the ornament exchange, I’d never have watched all the snow drifts in your neighborhood melt or gotten such an adorable green apron for The Bean’s kitchen or found a recipe for brown sugar fudge. Thanks for blogging. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for being my friend.

Congratulations and what wonderfully personal items! I love to blog – I get to tell the stories behind the jewellery I make, I get to meet new people, and, I hope, help some by giving little surprise gifts in giveaways, or secretly to those who are in need of a little pick me up. I love to meet new people with similar interests, as well as those who have hobbies I would love to learn more about – I just ‘met’ one woman who makes her own mead and infused vinegars, and who also grows much of her family’s food during the growing season (I’m sooo envious) – I never would have met her otherwise – or you! We live so close to each other, but we never would have ‘met’ either – what a wonderful, small, friendly world we have because of blogging!!

I blog because it is time for me. I can sit and think about and share my day. Even if the only person that reads it is my dad and step-mom. I am making a record of our life that I can one day share with the kids.
    Happy Blogiversary.

I have a notebook like that!!! I recall getting some great Burt’s Bees lipstick! I keep the notebook with my knitting to keep track of notes when I’m knitting!

The last Tuesday of June will be our 14th wedding anniversary!!!

I have great blog posts in my head…..maybe one of these days I should get my act together and start blogging again!!

Well here I am, the lonely non-blogger 🙂

Quite simply, I don’t blog because I’m intensely private…as you know. However…I am most thankful that you do blog. As I live so far away from my girlies whom are near and dear to my heart, I start each and every morning with my english muffin, a glass of milk, and spend some time with my favourite people. I feel a little emptier on days there are no posts, happy on the days there are, and extra excited on days you include photos.

Thanks for giving us our Anna fix each day 🙂

I vote for the photo shoot giveaway! 😉

I blog cause I need something, someplace to be and to write and to record.

anna, i cannot believe i haven’t been here for so long. am about to buzz off and read the rest of your posts but can’t resist adding my comment to the pressie pile, although i feel totally spoilt by your gorgeous pinkness that arrived already this year!

i blog because my brain is so full i’ll burst if i don’t have an outlet. and i love that it is a journal of our lives.

I blog. Why? Blogging is almost like my diary. In a years time I can go back and read things that have happened, feelings I was feeling and just go back and remember times in the past.
    I love to blog.

    Happy Blogiversary!!!

  • Maya June 28, 2009, 11:38 am

I couldn’t agree more…, grumpiness is unheard of at the beach! And happy blogiversary!!!

  • Denise June 28, 2009, 8:10 pm

    Happy Blogiversary!

I don’t blog, because I have an obssessive personality and I would spend too much time thinking about what to write and how to write it and then checking every five minutes to see if anyone commented and then more time replying to comments..etc.
I do read a lot of blogs though!

  • Lynn June 29, 2009, 10:45 am

What an awesome package! I love everything in it.

I blog because things don’t seem real to me until I write them down. Half the time I’m doing something with the kids, I have a running commentary in my head that will turn into a blog post. I obsess over the words until I can get them out into the computer, where they are safe. So I figure, if I’m writing everything down anyway, may as well share!

    Happy blogiversary :).

I started my blog because I registered to comment on another blog, and thought why not. 2 1/2 years later, it still isn’t a great blog, but I enjoy it. I like documenting some of the things we do, and I love the community of ladies I’ve discovered.

  • Twinmomplusone June 30, 2009, 10:48 am

    Happy blogiversary Beachmama!

I LOVE coming over and getting a peek into your life and seeing what you are up to. LOVE your creativeness!

I had/have a blog but haven’t posted in close to 1.5 years. I keep thinking about getting back to it but am worried about the time commitment. I need to figure out a quicker way of posting and checking comments and leaving my perfectionism aside so as not to fret endlessly over my posts.

    Hugs!!
