Last Day for the Tulip Festival

We made it down to Major’s Hill Park for the last day of the Tulip Festival.  The morning sun tricked us into thinking it was warmer than it was. Apple was dressed appropriately however, Hubby, J and I had bare legs and boy was it cold.

J is now too big for some of his favourite rides and too nervous to go on some of the bigger rides.  So he stuck with the Carousel and we hope to encourage him onto the bigger rides as the summer goes on.

Next up was the Candy Floss or Cotton Candy.  J has been asking to try it for a few weeks now.  He saw it on a show and wondered why I never bought him any.  I had to remind him that I buy him some every year at the beach, but he never liked it before, so I would unfortunately have to eat it, all. Hubby and I had a Beavertail (my third for the year!) and shared with Apple.

Despite the cool temperatures we had fun and remembered why we like to go out for a morning on the weekends doing something other than errands.

Looks like fun! It’s chilly here today too but at least we had a couple of nice days this weekend.

    Enjoy the stat holiday 🙂

TODAY WAS THE LAST DAY?? Why did I think it was next weekend?! Ah! My mom is here from Regina and I totally wanted to take her! Shoot, shoot, shoot! Were there many flowers still left? Should we check it out tomorrow?

    Dang it!

(Thanks for you reply on my “faster lens” post. To answer your question, I only have the lens that came with my kit, I think it’s the 18-55mm. I looked into the 50mm “nifty fifty” but that lens doesn’t auto focus with the d40 which is what I have. In order to get a prime lens that will AF with the d40, I’d have to get the one I linked to. “Nifty three-hundred-ninety-nine-dollars” doesn’t quite have the same ring. And is not so nifty. Did you have another idea?)

Ah, we were across the river shivering outside the Museum of Civilization! It sure seemed like it should’ve been warmer, didn’t it? Gorgeous colours in your pix!

Great pictures for such a chilly day!! I”m glad you made it, we were so thankful we went the very first weekend . . . although it still wasn’t all that warm then either. Beavertails are so yummy!!! I could eat one every day 🙂

Great pictures! I’m going to hire you for a photo shoot soon! Didn’t you love Major’s Hill Park? We went two weekends in a row… I wish the rides were there all summer long! My boys loved it. Especially the Beavertails part! 😉 Then we’d head over to the Children’s Museum. Another favourite of my boys! I’m so sad that the outdoor adventure will not be opening this year, though – very sad!
