Workout Wednesday – Standing Band Row

It’s Workout Wednesday again and although I did much better this week Monday threw me a curveball and I missed two more workouts that I wanted to get in.

I managed two strength training days, both for an hour and an hour swim with J. I also managed to run around a museum for four hours then an airport for a half an hour yesterday, does this count?

This week I really wanted to show you the Standing Band Row. I love this exercise for two reasons. 1) it is great for you if you work a lot on a computer, it helps reverse the bad posture that we can get from sitting hovered over a computer. And 2) I feel great after I do it. It strengthens all sorts of wonderful muscles when done properly. Shoulders, back, arms, abs. And somehow I feel like a million bucks after doing this exercise.

As I spent my afternoon swimming and this evening baking a birthday cake I am going to link to this video that is a fantastic demonstration of this move. And to top it off the trainer is on the beach, can’t beat that for wonderful exercise.

I should add that if you don’t have a band you can use weights but, you will miss out on some of the resistance, it is still a great exercise to add to your repertoire.

    You really make me want to start working out again! Good for you for being so fit! Why can’t I just go to the gym/for a walk on my lunch breaks? I’m so bad!

    Great move. I might invest in a resistance band if it means I can have arms like her :). I’m still kickin’ it with Jillian, and she’s really doing a number on me, lol.
