What a week. The weather turned from gorgeous to cool and rainy, but I am not really complaining because the grass is so green and we really, really needed the rain. The buds on the trees are bursting waiting to open up with my most favourite green. I can’t wait.
This week, I tried to get back on track. I did three 3km power walks after dropping J at school and one strength workout. I really need to get my strength training back up as it is the muscles I need to build. I am pleased with this this week as Apple and I were suffering with terrible colds. Now that I am almost 100% and Apple will be there soon, I am going to get back to a new workout I had started a couple of weeks ago, but got siderailed.
In honour of my continuous efforts to workout, I want to share with you one of my favorite pieces of workout gear. Resistance bands.
If you don’t have a gym membership or a set of weights, resistance bands can really pump up your workout. They can also be used in addition to weights to offer added benefits. I love my resistant bands. Which, were given to me by my personal trainer.
I would like to give away a set of resistance bands (may not be exactly as shown in the photo above) to one of my readers. To enter, simply leave a comment and let me know how bands would help you with your workouts. I will randomly pick a winner on Friday morning (April 24th).
**disclaimer: I am in no way a Doctor or Physical Trainer. I am going to share with you my thoughts and ideas about how to get into shape again. I strongly advise consulting a medical professional prior to starting any workout routine as well as a professional trainer. I am in no way responsible for any injury you may sustain from trying any of my suggestions.

Um? How many do I need? I guess to start with, starting to work out would be great. And then using resistance bands would help, right? My sister uses them. And she is very fit. So… 1, to start? 🙂
My arms need so much work. Ugh. This last pregnancy was rough for me all over. Like, I-really-need-to-get-my-butt-in-gear-kinda-rough.
I have one too, LOVE it! They are so verstatile and all you need is door hinge or a pole.
I think the biggest advantage is that they’d make my workout more portable.
Pretty much the only exercise I do is running. I wonder if those bands might help me incorporate some strength. Thanks Anna!
I have used these and LOVE THEM. I’ve always meant to get my own set but haven’t been able to find any that are good for women of our, ahem, tall and gorgeous stature. Please count me in!
Like Andrea, I’ve used them and LOVE them, but don’t have my own set. I am dedicated to doing the 30 day shred right now and really love it, but have also been sidetracked due to numerous illnesses (the kids and now me – sigh). I would love to try some of the strength training exercises I’ve seen that use the bands (esp. for shoulder, back, and upper arm areas).
If all else failed, I would likely use the handy dandy bands to tie up my three little ones so they wouldn’t bother me while I worked out.
Kidding.
Maybe?
🙂
