J was very proud of his collection. He did a great job and was thrilled that Apple and I were there. On the flip side, he was not so happy that I went around to check out all his friends collections. I didn’t want to leave anyone out as I see them all when I volunteer. He thought I took too long and had a long face when I got back. But, I told him that I wanted to make sure that I saw everyone because not all the kids Moms or Dads were able to come. That cheered him up a bit and he forgot about it.
First shot when I first got there. Before he got mad at me. Next time I won’t take as long to see all the other kids. I think because his other two buddy’s parents stayed with them he wanted me there.
His quick recovery. We did a marathon round of stores (three a marathon with my two kids) and picked up groceries. Apple had her nap in the truck and two of the stores, which was great. And J was helpful and not grumpy, which was great. So, when we got home we jumped into our swim suits and went through the sprinkler. J loved it, I only got my legs wet and Apple, well….
She did not like it one little bit. As soon as the drops of water hit her she was mad at me. Well, two for two why not? She recovered with a few minutes in the swing and we enjoyed our afternoon romp. Look at the green grass! And J sang his beach song, “We’re going to the Beach, the beach, the beach, we’re going to the Beach, the beach, the beach” the whole time we were out there. And he pretended we were down in the States, returning to Canada when we stepped back into the kitchen. Complete with ‘Oh Canada’.
All that and Apple went to bed at 7pm! I knew all I had to do was blog about it and it would resolve itself. Not sure how I did it, but I hope to repeat it again tomorrow.

Great job, J and Apple!
Apple’s face is great. My sister was like that with playing with the water hose when we were kids. She would flail her arms and run for cover when she got wet.
i remember when R14 was scarcely toddling and we went to the beach. she didn’t like the look of those waves AT ALL. she spent the whole time yelling at Daddy and pointing back at the sand yelling “stoppit! stoppit!”
what she was really trying to communicate was “sandpit! sandpit!”
yeah, i guess ya had to be there?
needless to say, by the next summer she was in with a grin!!!

Way to go J! His collection does look amazing. And LOL at Apple’s face. She knows what she doesn’t like, eh?
Glad to see the weather is lovely where you are, seeing as I’m heading that way in just a few short days.
