Somewhere over the last few months, my little girl, has become my BIG girl. At 20 months yesterday, Apple is tiny compared to her brother, but fearless. She is long and lean and has the abs I have dreamed of all my life. Her metabolism is incredible as she eats and eats and eats.
Where J and I can easily enjoy an afternoon with a movie and popcorn, Apple will have none of it. She is raring to go whenever she is awake. And her new favourite word is ‘outside’. I fear the rain that is coming for tomorrow and Thursday not that we can’t go out in the rain, but it makes it much more difficult for me. And sliding down the slide is a no-no for a 20 month old in the rain. And can I add that this is no toddler slide, but the slide on the play structure that was made for a three year old and up. She climbs the ladder and slides down all on her own. Be still my heart.
Her newest dare devil attempt today was the swing. Not her baby swing, that I love and cherish, but the big girl swing. She hung on and swung along side her brother. Laughing, squealing and enjoying the moment. She only let go and tumbled down once and it was party my fault as she was doing so well that I leaned over to push J for a second.
If this is what I am faced with at 20 months, what is going to happen when she turns two?

It has been a very long time since I have made a comment on your blog. (Or anyones for that matter.) I love all the encouragement that you give me and it is greatly appreciated. I just wanted to encourage you by saying that you take such beautiful photos of your children and other subjects. This one of apple captures such a wonderful moment and puts you right into it. I wish that I could take such great pictures of my children!
You are right. They grow up so fast. I was just noticing the other day what a big boy Duncan is becoming. He is definately not my baby any more! I can’t believe that soon he will be two years old. It just makes you not want to miss any single moment.
OH I would be more worried about 13 to 16 years if I was you!
Nathan is so like her so back read my horror stories and that’s what you got.
People tell me he is just busy…busy my ass…LOL!
Hugs and MORE hugs you are going to need them.
Honestly and seriously…if she wasn’t busy you would be worried what was wrong with her.
Love ya

Beautiful SHOT… I want you camera…never leave it alone with me. LOL!
Wow, seriously a beautiful picture – frame-worthy! Okay, wow, she is on the big swing already? GOOD FOR HER! I find that my baby tries to do everything his older brother does, and in that sense, he’s doing certain things sooner then Christos did. They are also loving the outdoors… can’t get enough of being outside! I hope the rain doesn’t start…
I love that picture – her hair colour is so heavenly!!! Sweet 🙂
I have a little girl with the same kind of spirit, so I totally get it. They will keep us on our toes, that I’m sure of.
My Kamden was the same way…he’s almost 5 and still in one piece. I thank God for miracles everyday 🙂
Beautiful photo Anna, I just love the expression of sheer joy on her face 🙂
It is such a second child thing! My M is much more a daredevil than his bother, and he doesn’t stop, EVER. It can be exhausting but he has trained me over the last 4 years. I am getting better at keeping up 🙂
