My Dad, bless his heart, was saving this bottle of wine for the next time his four girls would be together. But, when I called and said I forgot to pick up wine for dinner and could he bring something, Dad picked the best bottle of the bunch. It was quite fitting that I should be drinking a wine called “Girls Night Out” as I was at home on my birthday, not going out, but feeling like I was. We brought in texmex and had a lot of fun. And quite frankly Girls Night Out is quite a nice wine and not only would I recommend it but, I would buy it again for another evening in.
Back in September, I pre-ordered The Pioneer Woman’s Cookbook, with a gift card that I had. It was scheduled to ship and arrive just before my birthday, but last week I received an email saying that it would not be shipped until October 31st. A little bummed I put it out of my mind. But, when I went to the mailbox to see if a parcel had arrived from Regina, not only was it there, but right beside it was my cookbook.
A lovely, lovely book. Full of colour and delicious recipes, even my Dad was flipping through it making requests. Today, my Mom was over and decided that she must have one for herself as well, so I think it will be a big hit around here. I just won’t tell Hubby that they are not low-cal recipes.

Hey! I had Girls Night Out wine too this weekend. it’s pretty good.
Sounds like a great time! Belated happy birthday, I’ll have to check out that wine AND the cookbook 🙂
I asked my mom for the PM cookbook for Christmas. She goes to the states a lot (benefit of living in a border town) so I hope she can find it!
I meant PW cook book.
