Little Princesses

On Saturday I had the opportunity to do the most girly girl thing imaginable.  I let my daughter dress up in a pretty dress, one that she will call her Princess dress and took her to see Disney’s Princesses on Ice with my girlfriend and her little girl.  I too put on a skirt and did my hair, just because I could.

Here are the little Princesses before the show. Look at them, so sweet!  I can hardly stand it myself.

Then we got to the show.  They were mesmerized for most of the first half of the performance.

They told the basics of each of the Princess stories, spending a little more time on certain ones than others.  There were a couple that I didn’t even know were Princesses, but the girls didn’t know the difference. They loved watching the colours swirl and fly across the ice.

The second half was entirely about  Cinderella which pleased both girls, who moments before were wanting to leave.  It would seem that Cinderella has the same effect on my daughter as it had on me when I first saw it in a Cinema in England as a little six year old.

It was a wonderful day, one I am sure will be repeated again in the future. Perhaps it won’t be the same show, but I will certainly be getting dressed up in our pretty dresses and having some girly girl time just the two of us.  I can’t wait.

We went too! I didn’t even think to dress up the girls until we got there and saw all the beautiful costumes. Doh! Next time.

I thought the show was great but it was a little long for our kids — they were restless during the second half. Ironically it was the Captain who liked the show the best in the end…he didn’t want to go to any lame-o princess show at first, but he loved the skating and was engrossed in the stories and was very happy to see the princes too. We would definitely go next time!

How sweet! I’ve always wondered if my children would sit still during a whole performance.

Oh. My. Word. Apple’s dress is the cutest thing ever. Love the colours and the polka dots.

What a fun girly day! Here’s to many, many more for you and your girl.

That is so fun! I always wanted to see a show like this when I was a little girl, so I look forward to the opportunity to take my little girl someday. 🙂

We went last year — Eve wore her Snow White costume. Love your little princesses.

That sounds like fun. I went to a Disney on ice show a few years ago and enjoyed it. It was a jungle themed one.

It was a jungle themed one and Tarzan was total eye candy for the moms! 🙂
