On Sunday, I am leaving on an airplane and flying South. I am attending Workshop on the Waterfront with The Savvy Photographer in St.Michael’s Maryland. This is a really big deal. Not only because I am going to be surrounded by wonderful women who are photographers but, because I will be leaving these three gorgeous people behind.
I have left Hubby alone before, but never the children. This is my first time being away from either of the kids. Twice I have been away from J overnight but both of those situations were less than 8 hours. I am having anxiety attacks and have cried at least once a day. I do know this will be good for all of us, but it is really, really hard. The only thing keeping me going is knowing I will come back with all this knowledge that I can use and share.

Go and enjoy. It is important to take these opportunities. You will be doing something important for yourself, learning new skills and being inspired by the people you meet. And your husband and kids are doing important together time in their own way.

I totally sympathize…I’d love to go to BlogHer some day, but every year we decide we can’t afford it I breathe a sigh of relief because I can’t imagine going away from the babes for three nights. Have a great conference, I hope it’s amazing!

So fun! We were so close to visiting St Michaels while I was back east last fall. I hope you have a wonderful trip and that your anxiety eases as you make your way there!
I know you’ll all do great!! Still, it’s not fun to miss your family while you’re away. Just think of how much sweeter the kisses will be when you return.

Oh you will have so much fun! Conferences are amazing. Every time I go to one for my work I get all upset because I am leaving and then I get there and feel so energized and excited about my job (trust me, it takes a lot for me to get excited about my job). And you LOVE photography so this will make you squee all the live long day! Enjoy it. I know it will be hard to go but you will be so happy you did!
