This morning was the CIBC run for the cure. Despite forgetting that the start is uphill and realizing that my jogging pants are too big (yay me!) I managed to finish the 5k in 26min4sec. I think that was pretty good considering it wasn’t a timed run but a run for the Cure.
Another amazing morning. Not as cold as last year and the rain held off for us. And this year I was joined by my girlfriends who fought and won and more of our friends that we lovingly call, “MGW”. Two of the Hubby’s ran the 5k, but I did not manage to run with them both are faster and well, I just didn’t want to even try to keep up. The rest of the ladies walked the 1k with their kids. Hubby came along with Apple and J, but he wasn’t intending to walk, just keep the kids happy while I was running.
Donations can be made up until the end of October. Thank you to all who supported me in my run.

Congratulations and good for you! You are an inspiration to all of us. A big thank you for your fundraising efforts on behalf of everyone who has had, or knows someone who has had cancer. Thank You!!
Yay for running! And yay for pants that are too big!
26 min!!!!
And you were worried! That is spectacular, I have yet to break 30 min on a 5km. I ran with a friend this am and we did 32:30. It was a PB for her and I was really proud of her, she never walked once 🙂
Congrats Anna, you did awesome!
Congrats!!!!!!
OMG, Anna, that is so funny. My friend Kelly and I did it in 26 minutes too, although we were VERY disappointed when someone at the end of the race informed us that the distance actually measured less than 5K this year. I think it was 4.6 or something . . . we were totally bummed out and I am still telling everyone I did the race in 26 minutes.
Were you up near the front? We didn’t start near the front and found it really slow – lots of walkers in the running section walking 4 and 5 people across. We ran on the median and on the grass a lot, mostly b/c we just couldn’t run at a good pace with the rest of the pack. The parkway is too narrow for that race I think.
Yes, a great day, the weather was perfect and it was so moving to see thousands of people all running for such a good cause. Congrats to you!
Good Job my Dear Friend. I’m very proud of you and the rest.
HUGS
Congrats!
