I am usually a very happy person. I would say that 90% of the time, I am happy and upbeat. About once a year I get in a funk. This usually happens in the dreary days of February, but somehow this year it escaped me. Until this past week.
When the sunshine turned to gray and the warmth turned cold, I lost it. My mind that is. I had been happily trudging along but have come full stop. I haven’t been inspired to do anything but curl up with some hot tea in front of the fire and read a book. That is, of course, when Apple has been sleeping. When she is awake she has been begging for outside, she is an outside girl. But, she is also a daredevil. Water and a daredevil don’t go together on the play structure. So we have been passing a lot of time inside going a little bonkers.
The forecast is calling for sun, but I don’t really believe it, until it comes and stays for more than a week, I will remain skeptical. Until that time, I will call up some warmer days in photos and bask in that sunshine.
And bear with me a little longer, while I try to find my sanity.

Ugh, I am with you. My kids wanted to walk to school this morning, and I had to dig out winter mitts and hats for them to wear! I feel like I waited for months and months for spring to arrive…and now I’m waiting again, some more.
September BETTER be hot and sunny…October too!
Yes, this weather is getting a bit “old” now. I forced the kids to the park for the entire morning today, threatening them because “it’s going to rain again this afternoon”. So unpredictable. I just want to wear my shorts 🙁
My turn to say, “me too”. We finally had a nice weekend, even sprinkler worthy and it did my soul good. May your sunshine, both literal and proverbial, return soon my friend.
Hope y’all get some bright, cheery sun soon. You can always bunk in our guest room if you ever get this far south. We have plenty of sun to go around!
I know how you feel! Yesterday I must’ve said “I can’t believe it’s supposed to be June!” a dozen times or more.
I’m in a funk too, but it has more to do with the lack of warm than the grey skies. I Can handle t he rain if it was warm and it most certianly isn’t when I have to light a fire to warm up the house.
I’m sick of being cold and want so warm…Grey or Blue whatever!
I’ve got a GREAT idea!!! Well, great for me! Pack up the hubster and the kids and come to the Island!! 😉 Tee hee! I whipped right through Ottawa without so much as a minute to stop and break on our way home from Montreal to the Island. Sooooooooooo wished we could have had a little visit!!!
BTW, just thought I’d mention the give away I’m having on my blog.

I know Anna! What is up with this dreadful fall/winter-like weather we are getting in JUNE? I mean come on – we are now down to officially ONE nice month out of 12 in this city! Horrible. My boys crave being outside, too. It’s so much more fun being outside when it’s not freezing and raining, you know? Please come out, Mr. Sun! We need you and miss you!
I am with you! This sucks.
