Commitment Update

Remember when I made a commitment to lose 20lbs?  Well, I am happy to update that I am down 4lbs, only 16 more to go!

Yes, it isn’t moving as quickly as I would like, but it is Winter after all.  Not only have I cut back my snacking and eating again, which got out of control over Christmas, but I have stepped up my exercise.

I walk J to school twice a day, this is a slow ten minute walk that drives me crazy because I prefer to walk twice that fast. But it is still a walk.  One way both times I get a faster walk in.  Except on those very freezing cold days of course, I drive, as I don’t want Apples skin to freeze.

I have been doing planks every day in hopes to get my stomach muscles toned up. As truthfully, this is the one area that is worse than it has ever been.  Having being pregnant and having major surgery only three months before getting pregnant with Apple was rough on my abs.  They never recovered from the surgery due to complications.  If I only do one thing this year for me, it would be to get the abs toned up again.

I have also been running whenever I get a chance.  Today I ran 4k.  I was aiming for 5k but, my treadmill was still on the Imperial setting (which I thought I had changed earlier) and I was wondering why I was only at 2.5 at the 30 minute mark so I went five more minutes and bailed thinking I must be off today.  As it turned out, I was right on and had I continued a little longer, I would have had my full 5k.  The treadmill has been updated correctly and hopefully I won’t be so confused next time.

I will be adding another favorite exercise tomorrow, will share with you on my next update.

    Oh I hate the way the treadmills don’t actually tell you if they are set to KM’s or Miles. I got myself a pass at the Goulbourn centre and I went last night for the first time. I ran for 20 minutes and it said I went 1.9… I assume it was KM’s but really knows.

    GO ANNA! You Rock!

    I’ve lost 20 since September and I think it is because I walk every where on campus and take those BLASTED stairs in the UNicenter. And I’m trying to have a piece of fruit when I crave salt and if I still crave salt after 10 min I have some but then I’m not as hungry and don’t eat as much. PLUS Your adivce to switch to coke zero REALLY Helped! But I still have 30 or so to go.

    That’s wonderful! With your abs it’s best to start slow and slowly increase 🙂 I have some excellent exercises that I do, I would be happy to share them if you like. My abs were a mess after my second and now they are unrecognizable from back then!
