The end of 2005 was joyous and fun. We spent the evening with friends and their kids, neighbours, parents. We had lots of fun, great food and good conversation. It has been five years since we did anything but hang out at home on New Years. I for one was thankful for the company and the fun way to leave 2005. It wasn’t really like a party, so you kinda forgot it was New Years. We even left before midnight, to avoid the crazies on the road and frankly we were exhausted 🙂
I welcome 2006 with open arms and ask only one thing. Could you be a bit better to me than last year?
Happy New Years everyone, may you enjoy and be blessed in 2006!
I feel kinda empty. Not sure if I am tired from all the festivities or I just plain need to get back into a routine, I am kinda funny like that. I just feel empty. It doesn’t help that my little sis had already headed off on her travels. She left for Charlotte, NC this morning and will stay for a month before heading back towards Regina, SK. Sadly I wish I had a way to keep her here a bit longer, it seems we only get small snippets of time with her before she heads out again. The good news is she is looking to go back to school in the fall and she is looking at a few schools closer to home. In the mean time, take a glance at a few more random shots…

What a holiday. Christmas was so much fun this year. Just watching the kids open gifts, play with gifts, share their gifts was really great. This was the first year that “J” kinda knew what was going on. “A” was thrilled to pieces with his new camera, so we have another budding photographer here in our house. “J” got lots of hockey stuff, his own gloves, jersey and sticks, we are taking sponsors ;).
One of the hard parts about the holiday is knowing that my sisters and the kids are only here a couple of weeks more. It would seem that I cannot convince them to move back, but I will keep on trying.
The hardest part of all was dealing with my two very pregnant sisters. It cuts like a knife. Not sure how else to say it really. I know it isn’t their fault and I wish them all the happiness in the world, but it does not make it any easier to hang out with them and hear them chat it up. Not sure how I will make it through March, but will be working on it for sure. In the mean time I will leave you with a few random shots of the holiday.
