So much goin’ on.

Our visit has been very full and very tiring. My Sister, who just had a baby a week and a half ago, by c-section, was involved with a Conference. Shine. I thought we were only attending on Saturday for a couple of hours, since she should have been resting. But, Friday morning, not only did she wake up refreshed and anew, but she informed me we were going to a dinner that night and would be there all day on Saturday. I not only was unprepared, but I needed something to wear. Off to go shopping!!

I don’t have any photos of me in my new dress or new skirt, but I do have one of my Sis in her new dress, with our Mom and baby (Did I mention he was 11lbs 1oz at birth???).

Here is one of myself and a few of the nice ladies we met. Speaking of which. At Friday’s dinner, a beautiful woman was sitting with us and we got chatting. And talk about small world of all small worlds. Other than my Sister, at that time I only knew one other person in Regina. Anna Banana. So this beautiful woman is telling us about her friend. And all of a sudden I said, “Are you talking about Anna Banana??” and she says yes! So here we were sitting at the same table out of over 500 women, how crazy is that? She too has a blog so you will all have to go over and say hi to her. HEY MELANIE!! Unfortunately I did not take a photo of us together, I am hoping to see her again before I go, so if I do we will be sure to get a photo.

Sunday was Ballet recital day. We attended last year and GR was thrilled that we were attending again this year. J has been talking about going to the ballet for weeks. We were a little worried that the two boys were going to be out of control. But, the lights went out and they were perfect gentlemen. Discussing the different dances and the scenery and lighting. If we can keep them appreciating the ballet all through their lives two women will be absolutely thrilled to be married to these two. GR was a frog this year and what a cute frog she was. Having watched her first recital three years ago, it is truly amazing to watch how graceful she has become . She is well on her way to becoming a fabulous performer and I cannot wait for next years performance.

Monday has been jam packed. We sent Mom on her way back home, Sis watch GR in concert at school this morning while I watched five, count them, five kids, two of which are under 9 months. I did it and am still here to talk about it!! Then we went out to meet some wonderful blogging ladies and capped it of with a trip to the Corner Gas set. All this will have to wait for tomorrow as I am beat and haven’t unloaded the camera yet.

One Adult, Two Kids,

Two very efficient flight crews, One plane held, Two sleeping Children, One Tired Mama…

…Two Happy Cousins that didn’t leave each others side all day long…

…PRICELESS.

I was so busy after the Tulip Festival planting our own flowers and packing for our trip that I haven’t had time to post.  Yesterday was flight day and once we left Hubby at Security and headed to our gate, it was then that we found out that the flight had been delayed by an hour.  I pulled out the computer and we watched a movie to pass the time.  Apple used up most of her pre-bedtime happiness, so I was very worried for the four hour flight to Calgary.   I was also worried that we were going to miss our connection and I would have to haul these two to a hotel in Calgary at 10pm at night, all by myself.

Halfway through the flight when Apple had finally fallen asleep (after a few tears) and J was trying desperately to stay awake the wonderful Westjet flight attendants informed me that they were going to hold the flight back to Regina (yes we flew over Regina and back again).  I was thrilled.  We landed in Calgary and I had to carry a sleeping Apple and wake up an overtired J.  He was such a trooper he managed to stagger quickly to our gate.

The Westjet Crew in Calgary were nothing short of fantastic.  When I casually mentioned to the ticket agent that I didn’t have time to call my Sister back to let her know we were going to make the flight, she offered to do it for me.  She took the number and called!  By the way, this was when the agent was carrying my bags so I could push the stroller and drag J along.  Then we get to the plane and our bags are stowed, J is comforted and most importantly… I was not rushed.  Apple stayed asleep and I felt like the Crew actually cared that me and my children were happy.  One of the attendants was so caring that he almost made me cry.

My Brother-In-Law met us and we were in bed by 1am (3am Ottawa time).  Apple was up at 5am!!!  Yes, Mama had four hours sleep.  I woke J when his cousins were up in the morning and the fun did not stop until they were asleep at 8pm.  And that alone is worth the price of a ticket right there.  J and his cousin LJ are seven months apart in age, but glued to the hip when they are together.  There were no tears, no fighting, nothing but fun and laughter.  I hope to report more fun and games as the week goes along….

Snow and Chocolate

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

And what a day it is. The snow is falling fast and although it looks very pretty, it is really sucky to drive in. The temperatures are just cold enough and the wind blowing just right that the snow is creating an icy surface for your tires to barely grab onto.

Hubby, wonderful Hubby, bought J and I each our very own box of chocolates. He usually isn’t in to Valentine’s day, but I guess with the fact that he is now sitting at the airport waiting to take off for Brussels, that he was feeling a bit guilty.

Yes, Brussels. That makes two exotic places I would love to see that Hubby has gone to (or is on his way to, if his planes all take-off on time). I just don’t think I am cut out to have a husband that travels. It still doesn’t make sense to me that he travels for 12 hours one way for an 8 hour meeting and then 12 hours back again. But, who am I to complain, I am snug as a bug here at home. And he is going to see wonderful Belgium, hope he brings me some real chocolate back. And for his sake I hope his planes all take-off and make their connections or he will be one unhappy Hubby.

So, that my friends is my Valentine’s. A little chocolate, and an evening with J. I hope you all have a little more excitement lined up for you on this Valentine’s day.
