How could something so wornderful be so bad for you?
Today was fantastic. The sun was shining, we were outside almost all day. There was no arguing about turning off the TV, that alone was worth it. The only bad thing was getting five minutes to myself. I had to push J on the swing and sit for a minute to rest (because I deserved the rest, this was during Apple’s naptime) push and sit, I did this for about an hour. A full glorious hour. Ahhh…. it almost felt like summer.
Spring has finally sprung. And no, I am not really hiding, just spending a lot of time outside. Apple isn’t napping properly this week so I am filling in the time with walks, runs and time out in the great outdoors. Here are a few shots of this week.
Getting ready for the warm weather with the patio furniture.

Our first BBQ, steak for me and hot dogs for the boys. Their choice.

J was surfin’ on his sandbox lid. He asks at least once a day when are we going to the beach, so I guess he is getting ready.

Apple standing up on the chair. She tried this at least a hundred times. When she finally made it she came crashing down because her feet were too far away. That is how they learn though.

Please forgive me if I am a bit absent, although you never know what tomorrow will bring, but I am soakin’ up the early Spring warmth and sun. It was a very, very long winter.
Wow everybody. Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments. If I even start to get down on myself for not being back in shape, I am just going to come back and read all of your comments again. And again. You are all so fantastic.
Today was an absolutely fabulous weather day. Tomorrow is Friday and I don’t think all of the snow will be gone, but we are so close. We did not get all the rain that was forecasted, but the sun was beaming down and so strong that it is all melting and Spring is out everywhere. As are all the neighbours and their kids. It is so fabulous to hear all the kids playing and seeing everybody emerge with smiles on their faces. Nothing like being outside without being all bundled once again.
On the way back from school we decided to stop at the park. There was only one more kid at the park, which was so surprising to me considering. Apple was happy as a clam sitting in her stroller with the wind kissing her cheeks. In our family she is the only one who laughs when cold wind blows in her face. As the rest of us bundle up and shudder, she sits there giggling.

And J, well, he was in heaven. He was up the playstructure in seconds. I had the camera out and ready and before either of us realized he was down the slide and landing in a puddle. We both laughed and the fun continued. He splashed in every puddle. Played on every piece of equipment. Played in both the big kids park and the toddler park. He ran up the toboggan hill and was only slightly disappointed that he couldn’t slide back down. He climbed the rocks and had the most fun at the park since last fall.

Look at the fun he is having. He was at a dead run through the water and lovin’ every second. How could I say no?

The best part is that when we got home, he was still dry under all his Spring outerwear, so we didn’t have to change it all. But, after we played in the backyard later in the afternoon, we had to change. Somebody (me) forgot to put the splash pants back on. It’s all good, we have a washing machine.
