Buggy Eyes

I am so tired.  And the sad part is, I am tired from learning.

I have been doing a lot of research lately and it is wearing me down.

I am learning new things with Photoshop, so I can touch up photos.

I am trying out new things on my camera that are supposed to replicate the camera I want to move up to, to see if indeed I am ready.  If and when I start booking some paying jobs to pay for the camera.

And then add to that actually staring at photos and trying to decide if what I am doing is making the photo better or worse.

My eyes are buggin’ out.

So call this a cheater post, no thrills and no excitement.  But, a great big THANK YOU to all of you and your wonderful comments on my photo shoot photos.  It does the heart good to make me feel like I am going in the right direction.

Let’s hope for a good sleep night, little Apple had been waking a lot, but I think her teeth came in and we are back to better sleep.

J and Apple are typical siblings.  One day they Love each other the next day they don’t.  This photo is from one of those times that they were feeling’ the Love.  Sunday morning, after cleaning the living room the two of them threw the pillows off the couch and were rolling and bouncing everywhere.

As much as I would love to be like my Mother and not let kids play in the living room, I also don’t want to be like my Mother let them.  My childish side keeps winning out and allowing them to play in the living room.  At least they don’t play hockey in there anymore.

The two of them were laughing and giggling and getting static hair.  I just had to get some photos of them.  They are getting used to me sneaking in with a camera and this day was not an exception.  Now, if only Apple would just sit still so I could get a portrait of her for her Grandparents.

And now for a small sampling from the photo shoot.  These are the straight out of the camera shots, no retouching yet.  I have started editing and it will take me a bit of time, but I am having fun with it so it is all good.

And just to be clear, this is my Sister.  She is not, nor is she planning to get married just yet.  She is wearing my old (ten year old) wedding dress and shoes that I never got to wear (something about making me 6 feet 2 inches tall that Hubby wasn’t too about).  The shoot took place at my Mom’s house, which in itself should be a spread in a magazine, she apologized for the mess.  I kept looking for it, but assumed she meant that she forgot to close her closet door.  I am so thankful my Sister is so photogenic.

Yesterday, I had the fun pleasure of a Photo Shoot with my Sister.  I have not done a photo shoot in a very long time.  At least not a planned out, serious, I need to pump up my portfolio photo shoot.

Although we were doing some serious shots, it was a lot of fun to get silly every now and then.  My Sister is still here from Charlotte (we hope she stays a little while) and I realized that she would fit some of my old (read: skinny days) dresses and that I needed some good shots to play with my camera and get a bit of practice for a possible wedding that I am going to shoot in June.  Not that the wedding is possible, but that I may possibly shoot it.

She did her make up and donned my dresses and 200 plus shots and an hour later we were done.  I am now working on editing some of the photos.  Mostly playing with blemishes and a stain on my wedding dress that I wish I had had cleaned.  It was a wonderful experience and I hope that we can get at least one more shoot before she migrates South again.
