A Little Fun Was Had

This weekend.

We planted gardens.  Both flowers and vegetables/herbs (forgot to take a photo of that).

We put up the pool. And had the annual play in the pool while it is filling up and get soaking wet with cold water so you have the shivers, which included Apple this year.  And now when we go outside to play she starts taking her shoes and pants off and asks to go for a ‘swim’, which sounds almost the same as ‘swing’.

We went to the Barrhaven Family Fun Run.  We did it last year and it was 32c, it wasn’t as hot this year, but it was still nice out. Which I will totally do by myself next year and do the 5k.  Hubby wasn’t into it until he started running.  J only wanted to go in the stroller and yell, “Yahoo!!” and Apple wanted to run.

I begged the kids, Hubby, anyone to come and smell a flower so I could take a picture, J finally obliged. He kinda kept sticking his noes in too far though.  Cute, but not quite what I was looking for.  It was more fun to help Daddy with the pool.

J kept trying to freak me out with his friends pet caterpillar.

And I let Apple play with the water from the tap.  It was the only way I could keep her from escaping to upstairs while I made dinner.  She cried big huge tears when I finally turned it off.  It was like it was the end of the world, only it was the end of water play.

And that was my weekend recap.  No wonder I am so tired.

Today was just fabulous, weather wise.  We had one other day that I could have put the sprinkler out, but for some other reason I didn’t.  Today was the day.  J has been asking me for about two weeks if he could go through the sprinkler and I keep telling him it was too cold.  When he asked yesterday, I told him that no matter what he could go in it today.

We weren’t home from school for five minutes and he started asking.  I made him wait until his Sister had gone for a nap and that was it, he was running and jumping and cooling off.  After Apple’s nap, I put both of them back in their swim suits and turned on the water.

I just love sprinkler and summer fun.

Here’s to many more days of this for the rest of the summer.

Dare Devil

How much do you want to bet, I was freaking out while taking this photo.  When I backed up to get a shot of the kids happily playing together, she was at the bottom of the slide.  I brought my camera up took two shots and ran back to the slide as fast as I could.  Just in the off chance that she decided to do her flying leap into my arms, even if my arms were 20 feet away.

And Hubby wonders why my  gardening isn’t done.  I can’t turn my back for even a second or two.
