Yesterday, I had the fun pleasure of a Photo Shoot with my Sister. I have not done a photo shoot in a very long time. At least not a planned out, serious, I need to pump up my portfolio photo shoot.
Although we were doing some serious shots, it was a lot of fun to get silly every now and then. My Sister is still here from Charlotte (we hope she stays a little while) and I realized that she would fit some of my old (read: skinny days) dresses and that I needed some good shots to play with my camera and get a bit of practice for a possible wedding that I am going to shoot in June. Not that the wedding is possible, but that I may possibly shoot it.
She did her make up and donned my dresses and 200 plus shots and an hour later we were done. I am now working on editing some of the photos. Mostly playing with blemishes and a stain on my wedding dress that I wish I had had cleaned. It was a wonderful experience and I hope that we can get at least one more shoot before she migrates South again.
My day yesterday started out fabulously. Each year J sets his mind on what he thinks I should get for my birthday and this year he was on a jewelry kick. Hubby was able to find a sweet little broach that I can pin on my winter coat for him to give to me. I love it. In addition I received a couple of my favourite magazines, a movie and a U2 concert on DVD. And most special of all, I got a morning at the Spa!
Grandma came over to take care of the kids and I was off for some long awaited pampering. It started off with an hour of theraputic massage, then on to a facial and finally a pedicure. My back, face and toes are so thankful and ready to take on the winter. It was wonderful.

Sadly, this photo of my fresh toes is the only one of me on my birthday. However, I did get to play all my favourite parts of Batman Lego on the 360, courtesy of J. And then we headed over to my Mom and Dad’s for my favourite dinner of Chicken Wellington and homemade Cake (that my Sister made for me). I was showered with more magazines, books, treats and gift cards and am all set for a few weeks of downtime should I choose to.

All in all a most fabulous day and best of all I got to spend it with my family.
All of my friends and family know how much I love the Beach and Ocean and usually if they pick me up a little something, it follows with the grand theme of being at the Beach. When my Cousin and his family arrived last weekend, my beautiful Cousin-In-Law (see photo below) brought me a sweet little plaque and frame. And since we have been chatting recently of actually framing stuff up or putting photos into a photo album. I thought it only fitting that I frame up a photo and post about it so if she happened to stop by she would see how wonderful it looks.

The plaque reads, “My Heart will always be in a Cottage by the Sea”. I chose a photo that my Sister took of Hubby, J, Apple and I at the Beach this past summer and I think that it looks quite good. My only regret is that A didn’t make the trip with us and therefore is not in the photo. And I don’t have a recent photo of the five of us at this point in time, so for now this one made the cut.

The tones in the plaque and frame match up perfectly with the wall colour and accents. The photo below shows where it is hanging in relation to the kitchen. It isn’t easy to see, but it is on the wall section by the half wall. Which is where I spend a good portion of my day. My computer and planner reside on this wall and it is in the kitchen and close to the kids. I am often found standing there reading something or sitting in the chair opposite the half wall typing away.

Thanks again, Cousin-In -Law for being so thoughtful and bringing a little piece of the Beach to my home. I will think of you every time I look at it.
