Watching my two kids swinging together and having fun is priceless. Having Apple stick her little tongue out at me is wonderful, considering I just found out she is tongue-tied.
Apple’s laugh is infectious and I just love it. J’s silliness is wonderful and I wish that he was that happy all the time. His best buddy was over running through the sprinkler with him, so life was very good in his books. And J finally giving me a wonderful smile instead of hamming it up.
Today wasn’t quite as warm and we had a thunderstorm. In addition I also had to go to swimming lessons with J and swim! Not the worst I have looked in a bathing suit, but not the best either.
And the best compliment I have ever had came today. It just warmed my heart. I took photos of both J and his buddy in the sprinkler and sent some photos to his Mom through email. Her and her Hubby thought they were fabulous and asked if I would do their family portraits! I felt so blessed. But, had to admit that portrait work is my weakest. I work best from a distance and when the subject isn’t always ready for my shots. But, I will take the compliment and work towards learning a bit more about portrait work so one day I could possibly do it.

They are adorable! I love Apple’s laugh just from the picture. J looks like he had a blast.
Wow, that IS a nice compliment! Keep in mind that when shooting a family portrait, you don’t HAVE to keep everyone sitting still. You could all go to a park, and have the family walk by the lake, sit on the grass, play on the monkey bars, etc. Just follow them around and snap away, making suggestions as necessary. Of course you could always do some more formal sitting-type portraits for insurance. But some of the most striking family portraits I’ve seen have been untraditional. One of my favorites is of a family walking down a trail at a state park, the two little girls (ages 4 and 1) in between their parents, everyone holding hands. The mom and dad are both looking down at the kids and they’re all laughing.
Sorry, overflowing with unsolicited ideas and advice. 🙂 I am just excited for you!

Love the pink hat!
Those are fantastic pictures! Apple is adorable and that laughing one is priceless.
I am not surprised by the request of J’s friend’s parents, not at all!
🙂
YAY YOU!
Look at Apple’s laugh! That is priceless! No wonder you’ve been asked to take portraits 🙂
Hope your weekend is warm and sunny.

Anna, you are a very talented photographer… I love the lighting in these shots!
Your kids are just precious!!!
Such beautiful children!
My youngest is tongue-tied as well. Sadly, I had to bring it to someone’s attention (she’s 3 years old.)
Precious!!!! Love the outside days!
