This weekend saw a few projects finished and a few new additions to our house.
Apple’s baby blanket. I finally finished it! I started it in January and finished the last trim this past weekend. And before anyone says anything, I know that babies aren’t supposed to sleep on their tummies, but both my kids do. I tried my best to have back sleepers but, by eight weeks it was evident that they were tummy sleepers. Apple with her reflux slept in my arms for almost eight weeks exclusively. J was better, but looking back he probably had a bit of reflux too. Nothing severe enough for medication, but enough that they couldn’t sleep on their backs. And both my kids were rolling onto their tummies at six weeks, that and the fact that I have a mattress monitor helps me sleep, while they are sleeping.
Round two of cake pops. I found some cream cheese icing ( I think the two stores I looked at were full of it when they said it wasn’t available in Canada) and they formed much better into balls and the dipping in chocolate was so much easier. I finished them yesterday morning for a dinner we were having with my parents and they are all gone today. Surprised? I didn’t think so. But, that is the end of my baking for a while. I just can’t resist the temptation right now, so alas back to fruit for dessert.
And finally, la piece de resistance. Our new fridge!! I have been waiting a long, long time for this fridge. This is what I wanted ten years ago when I got my last fridge. It broke when we moved into this house three years ago. But, hubby was able to fix it. It was never the same again. With our milk and produce freezing all the time, and the freezer being unreliable at actually freezing the time had come for a new fridge. And I love it. I drink so much water and to have it cold and filtered at the ready is wonderful. And the space for food, unbelievable. We have one whole shelf that is empty right now, unheard of in our old fridge.
I can’t wait to see what is in store for next weekend!

Oh! I am IN LOVE with your new fridge!!! I want one! (Hubby, are you reading this??? LOL!)
Yay for the cake pops success and for finishing Apple’s blankie! I made one for my nephew and it took me *gulp* almost an entire year! LOL!!!
Come on over to my blog…I’ve got a contest for you to check out! 😉
I think my boys would have slept so much better on their tummies but the health nurses put the fear of God into me:-) Both my kids started sleeping on their stomachs as soon as they could roll.
That fridge is amazing and Anna made the pops last week and I had one.
I am in love! Great idea:-)
beeee-YOU-tee-ful blanket, go MOMMY!!!
and i have *serious* fridge-envy.
we defrost ours every fortnight (veggies/milk too) and start again.
i wa-a-a-a-ant a shiny silver fri-i-i-idge!!! X
That is a good looking fridge. We are in the market for a new one, too as soon as we return to Canada.
And the blanket is lovely. Isn’t it nice to have it all finished up??
Heidi
Yes I have fridge envy too. When we moved we negotiated “my” appliances into the sale of our house. I was so sad. And these old crappy ones we have in our new house (well not really new, the house is 16 years old as are the appliances) I hate them. I can’t wait to get new ones. Hopefully next year. Or maybe I will get lucky and they will die on me!
I really don’t know how you manage to get all that done. You really are Super Mom!
Nice Fridge. w a new one too but stainless. The one I wanted doesn’t fit…plus with all the money we spent on the van. That dream has to wait.
Wish I didn’t need a vechile.
The blanket is beautiful.
Congrats on the fridge. I am glad you found cream cheese icing. Don’t you just want to eat the whole thing of it with a spoon???
The baby blanket is gorgeous!!!
