Could Spring Really be on the Way?

If you look very closely you can see the grass peeking out under the playstructure. Today was a wonderful Spring day, the only thing that would have made it better would have been to have no snow left.

Lunch yesterday went fabulously. I felt really silly Wednesday morning when I realized, duh, Perrier water. And thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. So, off to the store I went. Right beside the Perrier, was French Lemonade and French Raspberry Lemonade. Well, I just had to get it, even if it was rather pricey. And my Mother- in -law and Sister-in-law were impressed that I made a themed lunch. The fruit and cheese plate was delicious, served with a fresh baguette from the bakery. And the Croques Monsieur turned out perfectly. I will definitely be making these again, Hubby didn’t even need ketchup! Dessert got changed up a little. When I was at the bakery they had some Eclairs, so I decided it would be easier to serve those than to make the Vanilla Pots de Creme. I still want to try them though, so I may make those another time as well. (Sorry there are no photos, but I was busy cooking and Hubby didn’t take any of me.)

I have reading another new (to me) blog called Bakerella. I found her when I was searching for cake ideas for J. Well, she makes these wonderful little cupcakes and today she was on Martha! I was so thrilled, even though I don’t really know her, to see her making her cupcakes. She did fabulously and I was just a tiny bit jealous that she got to bake with Martha. That is one thing I would love to do, cook, bake, sew, craft with Martha. I will be the first to admit that Martha Stewart has inspired me many, many times either with a craft or a new recipe. One day, perhaps my turn will come.

How do you make it with so much snow for so long? I’m not sure I wouldn’t go stir crazy. We’re hitting 80+ degrees here now. Amazing the difference.

I’m glad your lunch was such a success. I know y’all all enjoyed it.

Wow, it’s so weird that our snow is pretty much gone and you still have so much! That late dump you got was lots….

Although, I have to say it’s nice that it’s not us for once!

Sorry us SK people have it rough… or so we think anyway 😉

    I agree with Kim, I would go stir-crazy. 🙂

So glad the lunch went well. I’m sure the ladies were very appreciative of all your efforts. And the drinks were a perfect complement. Good job 🙂

ok so is it wrong if I am now obsessed with Bakerella and her site! I always thought I should have been a baker (instead of a candle stick maker HA HA HA oh man I suck today). No instead of working in tech :(. I wish I had more time to do this kinda stuff. I need to get my butt into one of those cake decorating classes. It is M’s birthday party this weekend and I am so tempted to try those cupcake pops, but they might be a bit too hard. I got the recipe off the Martha site anyhow. BTW I love Martha too. She is so awesome and I stood by her even through that whole jail thing.

What a wonderful menu…but do try those pots du creme sometime; we make espresso ones that are KILLER good. They’re little ramekins full of love.
